How to Set Up Scales with “RJ Race Cars”

When setting up your racecar, you must ensure that it is properly distributed. The suspension will not function properly if the vehicle’s weight doesn’t match the required position. This can lead to tire spin, tire shake and slower elapsed time. This Quarter-Max video shows how to properly set up Intercom RJ Race Cars RFX Wireless scales.

Rickie Jones Jr. and the team at RJ Race Cars know how to build and set up serious racecars — they have produced countless championship-winning, record-setting cars, plus Jones and his father, Rick, tune for the Elite Motorsports Pro Stock teams. They scale cars in the shop to ensure they are properly balanced for maximum power.

RJ Race Cars or Quarter-Max don’t have the same knowledge as you do by selling parts. You need to actually use them to understand their workings. Quarter-Max sells Intercom Scales, which makes it easy for the RJ team to use them in their shop. Intercom scales allow them to better address customers’ needs by being able to use other products in the field.

Rickie shows customers how to set up scales for the first time. Rickie will show you how to place the scales correctly under your tires so that they give the best readings. Learn how to save certain cars to the scale’s memories.

Achenbach, who was driving a nitrous oxide-assisted Chevrolet Camaro, lost control at the Maryland International Raceway in September. He struck the wall and turned onto his roof in the shut down area. Achenbach was briefly unconscious during the melee but woke up to see the destruction of the racecar.

Achenbach says that the car drove right, then left, and then turned hard right. I knew it was going straight into the wall.” I let go of my wheel, and the car hit me and knocked it out. The nitrous lines burst and it started spraying on me. I tried to escape, but the battery cables snapped and set the car ablaze.
